Fossils & Fashion
A Canadian in London, Michelle Lowe-Holder's collection is based on the sustainable and ethical practises of zero waste and upcycling. Her latest collections “Kulinda” and “Urvogel” are inspired by the evolutionary theory of scales evolving into feathers. "Kulinda" is the first dinosaur fossil discovered with both feathers and scales; “Urvogel” the first or original bird. Both inspired brightly coloured pieces that represent plumage and imaginary beauty. Every MLH piece is an extension of the on going experimentation with the concept of layering, hand crafting and experimenting with unusual materials. Each piece is handmade, individual and unique.
"Kulinda" and "Urvogel" will be available for viewing and purchase at Rue Pigalle, Yorkville Village upper floor, from November 28th to December 31st.
